Tuition Collection And Refund Policy

Glenbow College is regulated by Private Vocational Training regulation of Alberta. The College expects students to pay all balances according to arrangements made with the School’s Finance Department. All fees are payable as specified in the international student’s payment plan agreed during enrollment. Students are also financially responsible for all charges incurred after the Enrollment Contract has been signed.

Students are informed of all fees related to a program of study during the admission process. Students are required to speak to the Financial Administrator in the case of withdrawal, dismissal, changing their course load, or undertaking any other major change in the course of study.

Tuition Fee Phased Deposit and Schedule

International students are required to pay a $500 registration fee at enrollment, which is credited towards the first tuition deposit once an international student joins the program (Section 14.3 of the Private Vocational Training regulation). Below is a schedule of the expected tuition fee deposits to a “Holding Account”.

  • A minimum of 50% (less the $500 registration fee) of tuition fee is due as deposit eight (8) weeks prior to course start date. This fund is held in a holding account, which acts as a tuition deposit and will only be accessed as per the Phased collection schedule provided in the Payment Plan, given that the student has been granted a study permit and joins the program on the program start date.
  •  Remaining 50% of the tuition fee is due within eight (8) weeks of the course start date.

Tuition Fee Phased Collection and Schedule

Tuition Fee that is held in the holding account is collected by Glenbow College as per the Phased Collection Schedule:

First Collection (including $500 registration fee): 35% of the tuition fees upon arrival and registration at the institution i.e program start date

Second Collection: An additional 25% of the tuition fees collected once 50% of the program benefit has been delivered or once 50% of the program completion.

Third Collection: the balance of the tuition fees is collected once the majority (90% or more) of the program benefit has been delivered.

Students who do not pay fees as agreed or do not make a satisfactory arrangement to pay tuition and other charges, will be suspended or dismissed from Glenbow College. All relevant parties including Immigration, Refugee & Citizenship Canada will be informed of such action(s).
